A complete re-recording of the band’s gold-certified 1996 album Wither Blister Burn + Peel Second leg of the 30th Anniversary Tour begins September 10, 2026

OAKLAND, CA — July 27, 2026

Thirty years after Wither Blister Burn + Peel became Stabbing Westward’s first Gold-certified album, the influential industrial rock band returns with Wither ReWired, a complete new recording of the landmark release.

Wither ReWired will be released digitally through COP International on September 10, 2026, coinciding with the opening night of the second leg of the band’s Wither Blister Burn + Peel 30th Anniversary Tour.

The album is currently available for preorder through the band’s Bandcamp page in four formats. Fans who preorder early will receive “Crushing Me” as an immediate advance download.

Originally released by Columbia Records in 1996 and produced by John Fryer, Wither Blister Burn + Peel remains one of the defining industrial rock albums of the era, driven by songs such as “Shame” and “What Do I Have to Do?”

Wither ReWired was newly recorded and produced by Christopher Hall and Walter Flakus, mastered by three-time Grammy Award-winning mastering engineer Tom Baker, and features new artwork by David Seidman.

The CD edition is presented in a four-panel digipak with a 12-page booklet and includes the exclusive bonus track “Akegata (Dawn).” The album will also be released on 180-gram black vinyl.

Wither ReWired is not intended to replace the original album. The 1996 recording remains untouched and essential. This new version presents the songs through the perspective, experience, and creative force of the band three decades later.

ABOUT STABBING WESTWARD

Formed in Chicago, Stabbing Westward emerged as one of the defining industrial rock bands of the 1990s. Combining electronic programming, heavy guitars, memorable hooks, and emotionally direct songwriting, the band reached an international audience with albums including Ungod, Wither Blister Burn + Peel, Darkest Days, and Stabbing Westward.

Following their return, Stabbing Westward released the album Chasing Ghosts through COP International in 2022 and has continued performing throughout North America while developing new recordings and revisiting key moments from the band’s catalog.
