CATHEDRAL IN FLAMES welcome a new drummer and release the single “Push The Fire”
As a first taste of their new line-up – now consisting of veterans Phil Lee Fall, Gatsby, Ambra Von Bernstein, Billac DeVille, and newly joined drummer Barney Estrada – Prague goth rockers CATHEDRAL IN FLAMES release the single “Push The Fire,” accompanied by a stylish music video.
“Push The Fire” is a fast, rhythmically pulsing track driven by Gatsby’s bass and Barney’s tribal drumming, featuring a soaring chorus adorned with Ambra’s vocal acrobatics and Phil’s trademark growl. The sound was produced and mixed by Brett Carruthers of the Canadian band Birthday Massacre.
Newcomer Barney Estrada comments on joining the band:
“Since my teenage years I’ve been addicted to gothic rock. After all, there probably aren’t many drummers whose role model is Dr. Avalanche. Paradoxically, I had never played in a ‘full-blooded’ gothic rock band before. Until now. And although my musical scope has expanded considerably with age, I’m happy to finally fulfil a youthful dream – and right away with the best gothic rock band not only in this country. I’ve known Cathedral In Flames since the 1990s and always considered them a phenomenon beyond our space and time. Being part of it is an honour and a huge motivation for me. I’ll be glad if I manage to raise the bar even higher.”
Gatsby adds:
“There are lots of changes. The first and essential one is a change of producer, from John Fryer to Brett Carruthers. His approach to our music suits us perfectly, and on a human level the cooperation was outstanding. Another change is the live drummer. He definitely improved this track, so we’ll see how it goes further. And the last, quite significant piece of news is that after seven years since our return, we’re starting rehearsals for live performances.”
Phil concludes:
“Open your ears. Release the bats. Set the belltower on fire. Crank the volume to maximum. Push The Fire.”
