Athamay is a British Dark Electro/Darkwave/EBM band, currently formed by Sean (All music & programming) and Marlen (Vocals and Lyrics).
The project was initially started in 1992 as a solo project by Sean after the split up of his previous band, experimenting with drum machines, porta studios and multi layered bass lines. The project then expanded into a full band in 1995 with the original line up releasing the Pleasure of Sin in 1996 which included the club hits Kiss the Whip, Falling and Eternal Torture.
Due to contractual issues the ex Athamay members formed Torturetekk in 1999 releasing the album R.I.P. in 2000. Up to 2003 the band were working on new material under the Athamay name again (demo versions released as a dj only cdr, Torture technology). Due to personal issues this never progressed any further.
Since 2019 Sean has been producing new Athamay materiel with Marlen then joining in 2025.
The album The Crucifixion and the Resurrection was released September 2025, reaching No.1 in the DAC album chart, as well as the band also featuring in Sonic Seducer and Orkus magazines.
2026 sees Athamay continuing their resurrection with the New album Necropolis due for release May 1st 2026 and the band also making their long awaited return to the live stage.
