AAAK [As Able As Kane] invented Buildingscape Beat in 1987. Nearly 40 years later, somebody forgot to kill it.

On Buildingscape Beats, AAAK drag their signature sound out of the factory, rewire it, overclock it and point it directly at 2026. Across three tracks, concrete, machinery, brass, guitars and electronic violence collide with fresh paranoia and some very personal history.

“BSB V3.0” brings Buildingscape Beat into the age of artificial intelligence with a message that leaves little room for interpretation:

ARISE. AWAKE. STOP THIS PROGRESS.

“The German Factor” resurfaces from its original appearance as a CD-only bonus track on Big Fist. Ding added the vocal after discovering that his girlfriend had returned to her previous lover, a soldier stationed in Germany, apparently deciding that telling him was an unnecessary administrative detail. Industrial music has always sounded better with a little emotional damage.

“A.I Zombie” digs up “Techno Zombie” from the band’s 1990 LP, bolts new limbs onto the corpse and sends it staggering back into the street. The machinery has changed. The unease remains.

Old machines. New paranoia. Heavy beats.

Still standing. Still shouting. Still not behaving.
