Diva Destruction remixed by Das Ich – „All I Want“
„Diva Destruction first stormed onto the scene in 1998, propelled by
Fogarty’s fierce creativity and unforgettable songs like the goth club
staple, “The Broken Ones.” She swiftly made waves across both sides of
the Atlantic“ – Alice Teeple, Post-Punk
Diva Destruction returns with “All I Want (Remix by Das Ich)”, an
electrifying new release that brings together two landmark forces in dark
alternative music. The track transforms Debra Fogarty’s newest single
into a surging, progressive electronic piece shaped by the unmistakable
dramatic flair of Das Ich, the legendary German industrial band who
recently hit #1 on the DAC Alternative Charts with their latest album.
Founded in Los Angeles in 1998 by singer, songwriter and producer
Debra Fogarty, Diva Destruction has long been recognised for its blend of
classical musicianship, industrial edge and emotional candour. Debra’s
background in classical piano and her deep experience in music software
production have shaped a catalogue rooted in raw honesty, from the
club-shaking endurance of “The Broken Ones” to the enduring shadows
of “Enslaved”.
Over the past year, Diva Destruction has released a series of new singles,
including “Break Free”, while returning to stages across the world. The
band has reignited their live presence across the globe, marking one of
the most striking comebacks in the goth scene. They co-headlined the
massive center stage at Wave Gotik Treffen in Leipzig, performing for
8,000 fans at the world’s largest goth festival. Their return also included a
long-awaited headline show in Los Angeles, their first in two decades,
followed by major festival headlining performances in Mexico City and
Santiago, Chile. These shows have reintroduced her to international
audiences with overwhelming support, affirming that Diva Destruction’s
influence never faded, it simply waited to be reborn.
“All I Want” marks a very different turn in her songwriting. For the first
time in years, she wrote from a place of genuine happiness, describing
the track as a celebration of the love of her life. Known for exploring
cruelty and heartbreak in her lyrics, she approached this song with a
sense of relief and renewal: “I wrote it about the love of my life! I usually
write songs about horrible heartbreak and cruelty but this song is a real
turning point since my life has finally changed so much for the better!”Built on layers of expressive keyboards and glowing electronic textures,
the original track has a bright, forward-moving pulse. Das Ich then
reshaped it into something more ferocious and theatrical, heightening the
contrast between elation and intensity. Their classical foundations and
instinct for bold, panoramic arrangements give the remix a sweeping,
almost symphonic energy.
Debra sums it up perfectly:
“Imagine if Beethoven wrote an intense song for the dance floor!
Both Diva Destruction and Das Ich are classically trained musicians
who joined forces to create a dramatic dance song with the sound of
an epic symphony!”
